About Seine River
The Seine is 777km long and flows right in the middle of Paris, essentially dividing it into half. There are 37 bridges that connect the Paris.
Some of the most famous bridges are Pont Neuf (1607) and Pont Alexandre III (1897).

Strolling above the river Seine in Paris
Walking above the river gives you fantastic views of famous landmarks of Paris such as the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame.
Framing the river are countless historic buildings in immaculate condition and mostly turned into museums. Strolling along the Seine feels like being transported back in time, that’s how many old buildings surround the city center.
Walking along the Seine in Paris
Along the water are wide walkways where you see Parisians cycle or skate to work (yep, wearing suits and lovely dresses), young people sit along the water in groups with blankets and drink wine or tourists resting their tiered feet and absorbing the beauty of Paris. It is definitely the more relaxing part of Paris!
There are a few Cafes scattered along the Seine, bike rental facilities and benches to sit down with patches of grass.
Yes, the Seine river attracted us time and again during our one week stay to either sit down with some takeaway food, to stroll along during sundown or even to cycle along. I just loved the views along the river with its countless bridges, ancient buildings and people from around the world enjoying the tranquility in the middle of Paris. And I just know that I will be back!
