Koh Chang is Thailand’s second largest Island with about 5000 residents and means translated “Elephant Island” thanks to the shape of the island itself. It used to be a very remote and quiet island with only a few tourist appearing here and there. However due to the increase of tourism, Koh Chang has become more populated and therefore more  resorts and hotels have risen in the past decade. It is not as busy as Phuket or Koh Samui yet and therefore still a lovely destination for a more quiet holiday. Ah, Koh Chang! Here you are surrounded by green and lush vegetation on steep mountains and will be greeted by monkey’s on the trees. Koh Chang is one of Thailand’s largest Islands with several beaches and resort districts along the coast. We stayed in the region called Hat Tha Nam which also known as “Lonely Beach” amongst the tourists. During the peak season this area is packed with backpackers who seek beach and party holidays but during the off peak season it is astonishingly quiet and very affordable to enjoy this little corner of paradise. Who said it’s hard to find vegetarian and vegan food whilst travelling? I guess it’s true in some countries but this is not the case on Lonely Beach on Thailand’s island Koh Chang! I truly enjoyed the food in Ubud located in Bali as it was nowhere easier to find deliciously healthy vegetarian, vegan and even raw vegan food! There are countless restaurants, cafes and even a movie theatre that offered organic wholesome food in the middle of the culture filled Indonesian Island of Bali.
