After trying out several budget accommodations in central Palermo I finally came across this little gem with rooms so comfy that it makes you feel right at home! Come and check it out with me!
Amazing location right at the start of Via Maqueda which is at the beginning of the “touristy part” and therefore you wont feel like you landed in some “mafia movie”! Central station is only 8 walking minutes away.

Average of 50 EUR per night for short stays.

It is a little more that the other budget accommodations (20-30 EUR), however it’s worth the extra money simply for the comfort, the location and the delicious breakfast.
Featured with a nice breakfast nook and located inside a lovely old building that as been restored to become a Bed & Breakfast. In display are typical Sicilian arched ceilings in the walkway.
Perhaps only downfall are the plethora of steps that await you to reach the guesthouse, especially with luggage. BUT the staff always comes down to carry your luggage up.
Absolutely comfortable and cozy making you feel right at home. Very modern and snug décor with lovely touches such as paintings on the wall or the bathroom amenities being placed in cute little buckets!
Gloriously comfortable making you want to stay in bed all day rather than touring around Palermo! It’s the bed that makes your stay after all!
The rooms are appointed with a desk, TV and a little minibar and free tea making facilities.
Are very clean, modern and really functional. They thought of every little thing from having a rack next to your shower to place your towels on Suitto hooks on the wall to hang your fresh clothes to change in. Just lovely!
Some rooms also come with a little kitchen for long stays!
I tried breakfast in many little guesthouses in Italy and as a Westerner I must say it was rather lacking consisting of packed and dry Croissants and a coffee.
Gallidoro however got the “Continental Breakfast” right! Not only do you get asked what type of coffee you like but they also serve deliciously fresh Italian “Cornetto” with an assortment of jams!
Further the offer a little buffet table packed with fruit, yoghurt, cereals, milk, juice, cheese, hams and prosciutto crudo and even WHOLE GRAIN TOAST! Awesome!
Attentive, friendly and super helpful with your bags as well as advice about tourist attractions, maps and recommendations for restaurants. I could not ask for more.
For us, this is the place to go when visiting Palermo on a budget and where we will be staying from now on. The price borders our accommodation budget and what you get is worth your money.
Thank you for a lovely stay, Gallidoro!
